This course is intended to provide a con ceptual understanding of the importance of maritime education and simulato r training with a view of the human element in shipping and the special wo rking environment on board a ship. In addition trainees will understand th e psychology of learning in a simulator\, in order to design and conduct s imulator based training programmes\, including exercises and detailed brie fing and debriefing.
\nTrainees wishing to participant t in this course must ideally ha ve a seafaring background as the course will require trainees to draw on t heir experience in training\, although those who are about to enter the pr ofession would also be suitable. It is recommended that the trainee has in itially completed the IMO Model Course 6.09 – training course for instruct ors before commencing on Train The Simulator Trainer And Assessor Course.< /p>\n
Trainees\, who have successfully completed the IMO model course 6.10\, will be issued with a Train The Simulator Trainer And Asses sor Course certificate.
\nThis training is intended to me et the requirements set out in the IMO Model course 6.09\, Training Course For Instructors.
\nThe object of this course is to provide the know ledge and skills for trainees to administer\, supervise and monitor traini ng and assessment of seafarer competence in accordance with the provisions of section A-1/6 of the STCW.
\nTrainees will gain an understanding of preparation of effective teaching and instruction\, selection of appro priate methods of instruction and teaching materials and the evaluation of the teaching and learning process.
\nThe Training Course For Instructors programme is open to all deck and engineer officers who are qualified in the technical aspects for which tr aining is to be conducted.
\nTrainees\, who have successfu lly completed the IMO model course 6.09\, will be issued with a Training C ourse For Instructors certificate.
