Our combination courses are approved by the UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA). This course will consist of 5 days of Generic ECDIS training and 3 days of HELM Operational Level training. If you choose to complete
this combination course we can offer you a 20% discount. It will mean if you are travelling from abroad you only have one return journey and we can also recommend accommodation for your stay here if needed.

For HELM Operational Course:
Learners following an MNTB/MCA approved programme are eligible to undertake this course after their first seagoing phase. Learners following the experienced seafarer route to MCA certification shall meet the minimum seagoing service requirements for the issue of a first CoC.
For Generic ECDIS Course:
ECDIS Ltd is not teaching trainees to navigate using ECDIS. It is teaching them to use ECDIS in order to navigate safely. Therefore, we require the trainee to have basic navigation knowledge and to understand what a navigation watch entails. We believe that traditional navigation techniques are still relevant in a digital world so we teach the use of existing navigation skills on an ECDIS system.

Candidates shall hold a deck or engineering certificate of competency at the operational level and meet the minimum seagoing service requirements for the issue of a management level CoC.
