** The Enav Centre delivers their first CPD Course

The Enav Centre successfully delivered their first Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course to Svitzer earlier this month. The CPD course was delivered by Darren Clark of the E-Nav Centre and ran over a two day period covering:
* The Legal Aspects of Radar within Navigation and ECS
* Familiarisation of a Radar Set including the Basic Theory, Setup and Controls
* Use of the Radar Navigation tools focusing on Parallel Indexing (PI’s)
* The Introduction into ECS, the Concept and Capability, Advantages and Disadvantages
* Familiarisation and implementation of Passage Planning within an ECS
* Consolidation and utilisation of the aforementioned topic’s within the Bridge Simulator
The CPD course tests the practical use of the student passage plans, into mini simulators and navigation around their planned tracks, with a final assessment in the bridge simulator focused on problem solving by using the sensors within a series of pre-designed exercises.
