The course content and structure was well-balanced between lectures and practical exercises on ECDIS equipment. The initial step-by-step guide to operating the equipment was easy to follow and understand, therefore the learning gained was easy to remember and apply in later more advanced exercises. I recommend this course; it is well-organised and planned, and gives the student confidence in using this new equipment in the correct way, without neglecting the basic principles of navigating and keeping a proper lookout. This was best demonstrated in the final exercise on the integrated bridge simulator.
